Semi Fowler Bed (Manual) is a type of hospital bed that allows the head section to be elevated (typically up to 45 degrees) using a manual crank system. It's commonly used in hospitals, clinics, and home care for patients who need support while lying or partially sitting up. 

• Adjustable Backrest: Manually adjustable using a crank mechanism.

• Fixed Height: Unlike Fowler beds, Semi Fowler beds usually have a fixed height and non-adjustable leg section.

• Crank System: Operated by a mechanical handle (usually at the foot end).

• Side Rails (Optional): For patient safety.

• IV Pole Attachment (Optional)

• Locate the manual crank handle (usually at the foot end of the bed).

• Turn the crank clockwise to raise the backrest.

• Turn the crank counter-clockwise to lower the backrest.

• Adjust to a comfortable angle (typically up to 45°) based on the patient’s needs (e.g., eating, breathing support, rest).

• Ensure the patient is lying comfortably on the mattress.

• Use pillows for additional comfort or support.

• Use side rails if provided to prevent accidental falls.

• Ensure the castor wheels are locked to prevent bed movement.

• Most beds have foot-operated locks—press down to lock, lift to unlock.
